Dental Metal Restorations

Avoid a one-size-fits-all approach for metal restoration or reinforcement.

Metal Restorations Overview

For fixed prosthesis, we use alloys instead of pure metals, as pure metals don’t have the required physical properties for restoration. With metal restorations for crown and bridgework, you’re able to select the alloys that suit the needs of individual patients. It’s not a one-size-fits-all approach - we provide tailored solutions.

Benefits

Metal restorations have greater compressive and tensile strength than other materials, with minimal wear of the surrounding teeth. They’re also ideal for longevity, reliability and long-term durability, protecting the remaining tooth structure with excellent marginal integrity. Our metal restorations are certified by US IdentAlloy® for biocompatibility.

Considerations

Type IV alloys suit single crowns to large bridges and implant superstructures and Type II alloys suit short-span bridges, single crowns, inlays, onlays and partial crowns.

  • Composition of alloys will vary according to the constituents of the alloy:
  • High noble content: (Au + Pt + Pd) ≥ 60% and Au ≥ 40%
  • Noble Metal content: (Au + Pt + Pd) ≥ 25%
  • Base Metal: (Au + Pt + Pd) < 25%
